    This years ZPS Game Giveaway event as begun!


    For each hour of play in either the EU1 or EU2 ZPS Servers, you will gain a Candy Cane


    Each game requires a specific amount of Candy Canes to buy a Game Ticket for the game you would like, a list of this years games are below, with their Candy Cane Cost!

    The menu can be accessed by typing !candy in game, thus allowing you to buy a game ticket for the game listed above using your Candy Canes.

    The Event will end on the 24th of December, and the draw will be held on or after the 25th of December in one of the ZPS Servers!

    In terms of upgrades, as xerox has already stated we are ALWAYS open to suggestions about what is too overpowered and potentially ruining the game for other players.


    The Maps;
    The current system in place currently prevents the same map from being played within 30-35 other maps ( well, it should, I'll double check after this post ) . Even on a map crash, this will save all map positions unlike the standard inbuilt RTV system. This was a problem years back and was the reason i made my own RTV system to try and get maps spread out and played. This could easily be raised, however, specific maps like redqueen and the like will keep the server filled more than having them in rotation of the current 30 differential maps.


    Camping;
    Specifically in Fungrades and EU#2 JX MOD this is more of an issue, due to speed and ammo regen, camping is so much more easier, it is a problem and am open to suggestions. Years back, around 2010 time when sammy had his zpsupgrade script, he put a limit on ammo regen specifically so it would only last a certain amount of time, this could be a push in the right direction in terms of camping on survival maps. On objective maps, the same could be applied, or we could slow the ammo regen to spread it out over the round.


    Upgrades;
    HP and Damage are the two upgrades we recently tried to change and balance out, but like i have always stated when people complain about how op they are, the answer will pretty much always remain the same, it is an upgrade server it is what it is. There are many scenarios to consider in the game in terms of the amount of points you have and your skill. A highly upgraded player who is very skillful is the main problem in an upgrade server, more than anything else. With high damage / speed and aim, they can 'abuse' the system and get the most points out of the game, so my first thought process into the game is to make and assist new players and less skilled players have a chance. This is almost already done due to the cost of each upgrade, getting to level 10 from 0 out of 30 is a lot faster than getting from level 10 to 15, which means new players can get real beefy stats without putting a huge amount of time into the game anyway. and to be honest, i believe this to be very balanced and fair for new players. Specifically in JXMOD and i believe i did some for the upgrades in RPGMOD, early upgrades and stats are boosted for the early upgrades as well. But again, it always comes back to, this is an upgrade server.
    Although i have just briefly mentioned it, i also have to think about what to do with new players and i need a better word really for the 'unskilled' ones, and within an upgrade script i have come to the conclusion, it is almost impossible. Apart from giving early boosted stats, there is nothing much more i can do to to balance it out. again suggestions i would happily take on this.


    Point Earning;
    I would love to reward people doing objectives and i will have a good think about what i can change to make camping less rewarding and almost pointless. There is no easy way that i know to track who is doing the objectives, as each map is different, some have player clips, some have buttons, some keys, all with different entity names, and unless i have a specific script for each map to try and track the objectives, it will be a hard one to master. But regardless, i am sure me and xerox can come up with some workaround for you.

    A slight request than explaining this game in this section, but i had put a fair amount of hours into this game in the past, and i found out ( after the client broke and servers broke years ago ) a fix was released earlier this year Kreygasm


    Maybe some people on here have played it in the past, but i would strongly suggest giving it ago. It requires HL2: Deathmatch and SDK 2006 and the following mod!

    It was and i believe to be a real fun mod, and as a quick explanation of the game; It is a mix between garrysmod and any hl2 fps game. For the first 8~ minutes, you build and secure your flag, making sure you can get out and in ( or even having your own design to capture the flag ). Then for the next 10 minutes you fight with various different classes to choose from.


    For those willing to give it a try, when you install the mod it may ask for the location to install ( Steam\SteamApps\sourcemods\sourceforts ) also make sure you use the Complete install option.


    Will be playing this evening at some point if anyone is up to tag along, a server is up and running ;>

    Yeah, tbh that is one of the best changes, carriers were far too strong, and high upgraded players playing as whitey was just far too overpowered.


    The damage upgrade alone per level affected whitey more than a normal zombie so it needed changing and balancing, a very legit nerf for upgrades. The default base damage settings for zombie/whitey with upgrades just made it hard to balance and did not work too well with an upgrade system so i think it is a very fair change for all.


    The changes as a whole were designed to make zombies have a chance of reaching and attacking humans, but allowing humans to also have a chance to fight back and not get 1/2 hit by high upgraded players too. It also gives new and low upgraded players an even better chance of fighting high upgraded players too. (hp base, hp per level, base damage)

    Long overdue, but i think it would be best for all members and players to understand the Zombie Leaver system and the reports you see on the BanMe section of the site.


    The new code has been designed to stop players leaving as a starting zombie, and a human player who has just been killed at the start of a round.


    If a player has 4 or more warnings, they will be banned for one hour, split into two bans;
    > A 30 minute ban is given instantly. This is to prevent a player from rejoining and avoid play as zombie for the current round.
    > A second 30 minute ban is given ( after the original 30 min ban has expired ) the next time the player joins. This is to prevent people from just leaving as a zombie, and coming back an hour later + and playing as if no punishment had been given.


    2 Warnings are given to a player that leaves as a starting Zombie.
    2 Warnings are given to a player that leavers after being killed as a zombie.


    The plugin only monitors the first few minutes of each round, after this time has expired, starting zombies and humans who are killed will not be punished. The plugin is designed to prevent the start of a round from being ruined by leavers.

    Starting Zombie Leaver - AutoBan = A Starting zombie both Whitey and Normal has left the game.
    Zombie Leaver - AutoBan = A human who has been killed and switched to zombie has left the game.


    Zombie Leaver - Rejoin AutoBan = Part 2 of the original ban, the second 30 minute ban stage.


    Hopefully this all makes sense!


    Update 1.2


    AFK Manager - System now has an additional feature which will punish those who decide to afk once becoming a zombie. The inner workings of the mod will be kept a secret to prevent any possible abuse to avoid detection. However, if a user is afk for longer than roughly 30 seconds, the system will take action.
