I have had a lot of questions from members lately about the !vban command, especially because some cannot use it (any more). To clear this up, I'll quote a post that Vergeten made in another topic, one that explains the situation.

First time the vban was added, only lvl 2 members could actually use that command. But Joux had the checker disabled when he remade it and so all members could use the vban ... which wasn't ok. Simply some members are young or just not trusted with these rights... and to say 'than don't add them to the community' sounds a bit harsh . I will give some members lvl 2 this week so they can use vban.
But the thing with vban, it shouldn't be used if you can simply contact an admin. The v-commands were added cause sometimes there was no admin online around that time, since we all have differenet timezones... with a speedhaxor this will cause the server to be empty and not fun to play. If there is a admin online on Steam, than that admin should make the punishment. Simply because thjat admin got admin because I and Joux trust hom or her with the power he/she has/. While membership has other criteria which are much less strict than what we ask from admins.
Vban should only be used if there aren't any admins online, don't hesitate with adding me and Joux to your friendlist. Of course adding more admins like Darktanner, Mr. 9 etc is always usefull. The v-commands weren't made so members can be half admins. Lately members using vcommands even when there are admins playing, which Joux scripted when I asked him if he could do that. OA other issue happened last time that someone with just very bad lag get's a vban for speedhacking, while there was a topic open on the forum about this guy and I remember him, as super lag nub... He teleports instead of walking, so he can be in front of you in a sec without seeing him walking towards you. But he got a vban anyways (with no evidence/prove being made at that moment).
Very important is to make a demo and/or upload it to YOuTube ea. Simply because we can't verify the ban and see if someone bans is legitimate. Especially if thebanned player comes to the forum and complain ahbout it. Admins actually had this rule, that's why you see some admins post on the forum with evidence
So Talhiax... it isn't dumb, but done with a reason . Or do you actually think that all members can behave themselves correctly wtih these powers Other problem is, that if it got abused the v-commands would have been removed completely while now we can just punish/award the members we trust with that access. As you can read in this post, mistakes are still made by members sometimes.
I hope this will make the current situation a bit more clear for some members.
