Both and neither.

    Quote

"There is no Dark Side, nor a light side, there is only the Force. I will do what I must to keep the balance as the balance is what keeps me together. There is no good without evil, but evil must not be allowed to flourish. There is passion, yet peace; Serenity, yet emotion; Chaos, yet order. I am the wielder of the flame, the protector of balance. I am the holder of the Torch, lighting the way. I am the keeper of the flame, soldier of balance. I am a Guardian of the Balance. I am a Gray Jedi."
—Leor Danal reciting The Gray Jedi Code for the first time while in a force trance.

Can barely get 20 fps even on the lowest of details, which makes it look shittier than Fallout 3 on max that I can run with a hundred mods no problem.
    Fuck optimization, right?

So, this piece of f2p (true f2p, no p2w shit here) game got into open beta a few days ago and I've been playing it for a few hours, and it's pretty fun. It's humans vs. vampires set into the world of Nosgoth, which was a world in the Legace of Kain series. Apart from that, it really has nothing to do with LoK. Right now, there are 4 classes in each team, with 3 (or 4? Can't remember) maps.

Right now, there's only Team Deathmatch 4v4, but they'll be adding more modes in the future (Falshpoint is in beta right now - capture the flag basically), more classes, more items etc. You get items by either leveling your classes, or by buying them for in-game gold which you get no matter if you win or lose, or by byuing it for real monzey, but that's really not necessary.

The only thing you can't buy for in-game currency are skins, otherwise everything is obtainable. What's really great, though, is that the basic weapons and abilities (which you can also buy, permanently for a larger sum or for 7 days for a really small sum which you can get back in like, 3-5 games) are pretty good, too, and won't put you in disadvantage to other players. So, yeah, no p2w here.

The game is obviously team-based, but you will learn that soon enough when even if you are able to shoot vampires in 360 no scope, one-shot-kill, you will still get rekt if your team-mates are a bunch of idiots. Which is sometimes a given, but I've had mostly pleasant enough experiences with at least average people, so that's pretty good. You won't get yelled at for being a noob at lower levels because the match-maker is trying to balance shit, but it's still not as good and sometimes you will just get a shit them against great team. But, that only happened to me once every 10-15 games or so.

Each Team Deathmatch (the primary game mode) is divided into two rounds, and each round lasts 10 minutes or until one team accumulates 30 kills. Then the round ends and another begins, and each team changes their races, so humans in first round are vampries in second round, and vampires in first round are humans in second round. At the end of tthe second round, the number of kills from both rounds are numbered for each team, and the one that has the most kills wins. So, even if you lose the first round, you can still win, and vice versa.

The game is really easy to get into (but hard to master, etc.) and has AAA graphics without being a computer devourer.

You can team up with three other players in death match and thus create a team. Which is always better than pubs, but even that is very much fun.

So, what are you waiting for? Get it for freeeeeeeeeeeeeee and let's team up, bitches!

"(Introduction or something is missing, because I have no idea what's going on. Are you making summary of a whole book or a single chapter?) Roy Dillion (who?) ends up being taken to the hospital by his mother Lily with injuries from when he failed in trying to con a clerk (what clerk, how did he try to con him?). When he leaves the hospital and goes out of town with his lover Moira (who?), she finds out that he is a con artist. She asks Roy if they can both team up, but he declines and slaps her (why?). After they arrive from the trip, he receives a call from the police informing him that his mother commited suicide (mom iz kill ;_;). He goes and finds that the body is not his mother's, but rather it's Moira’s body. After he heads home to his hotel, he sees his mother breaking in and trying to steal all his money. They start arguing and his mother ends up killing her own son with a sharp broken piece of glass. She starts to realize that she has killed her own son, but regains her composure and takes the money. (And then what? Does she kill herself? Does she leave never to be seen again? Iz she kill for rael? ._.)"

I guess, I am too drunk to do a deeper analysis, but whatever.

What happened, anyway? Also, to not make this OT:

The whole album is actually an autobiography by the author, Yoann "Woodkid" Lemoine. So, basically, he's singing about his life.

This song is absolutely amazing i think.

    Hehe Draka the philosopher

In my defense, I enjoy philosophy somewhat. And it was 2 am and I was sick as all hell from eating too much chocolate. Holy hell, I never thought one could get so sick from damn chocolate. Anyway, now that I read it again it just sounds... goofy. Badly conveyned. That's what you get for trying to distract yourself when there are two vulcanos erupting from two sides of your body, though the upper one was mostly dormant. Can't say the same with the one below.

You speak of survival of the fittest, but that's just gibberish angsty teens like to tell themselves. That everyone is out for themselves, because that's all they teach you at high school. But the truth is far more complex than you claim. Ideals are what made this world what it is today. It were ideals of the past that allow you to express the present. The freedom, the technology. Those all arose from ideals for a better world. The world has never been a better place to live in than now.

Admitting that which is wrong about you is a good thing, a courageous thing worthy of praise, but it alone stands for nothing if you don't take the next steps. I am flawed, you are flawed, we are flawed. We're like children who pretend to be grown up, because that's what we are, and few of us will ever grow up during our lives. Once we are able to put aside our jealousy, rage, selfishness, ambitions that leave destruction in its wake, then truly will we become adults. That's the next step. I am selfish, jealous, hateful. I hate so much that it causes me heart problems. I am jealous for the materialistic wealth that others have, I am jealous of the success of others. I was weak, still am. Before puberty I was nothing. Not even a face in the crowd, but a thing you could kick and that would not defend itself. But I became better. I deserve to have it all. I deserve it! I fought so much, I deserve victory!
True greatness lies in dealing with these thoughts, that which makes us wrong. Yes, my jealousy and selfishness and hate are something I can't stop, but it's something I can battle. Instead of wishing illness upon others, I smile and congratulate them in their victories. Though I want to have it all I share of what I have. Though I am angry I revel in cheer and laughter. I can't defeat myself, yet I have to fight. We all have to.And you know what? It's better than being the self-proclaimed lone wolf. People are friendly if you let them, if you show them that you don't have to be the lone wolf. It can take time, it can be a long, arduous battle. But there's always a light, for without it we couldn't compare it to darkness within our hearts.

Now that all of that cliché teen angst is out of the way, how about you stand up to yourself? You judge yet don't want to be judged. You say what others think doesn't matter to you, and you're right. Partially. Every king needs advisors, and you should take what others give you, even if you were to throw it away in the next second. And just because someone else does things that are worse than what you do and don't get punished doesn't mean you should do it, too. Just because someone does wrong doesn't mean you should too.

Ugh, this is really hard putting into words. That two ideas collide doesn't mean they should clash. Maybe they should bend, together, and form something new, just like death and life — two opposites — form the circle of time. You speak of yourself as if you alone know the truth and that everything else is a lie. But that's nothing but hypocrisy, which is something you, subliminally, also criticize on others. Yours isn't the truth, and neither is mine, but it doesn't mean that there's at least not a bit of right in them.
Just fucking stand above yourself, above others. You don't have to change your ideals, or yourself. You just have to take control of yourself.

Gah, expressing the nature of oneself is harder than it should be. I am out. Take this however you will. Hopefully you'll realize that not everything is as shitty and gloomy as you would like to believe. Also, this game was made for team-work. Saying otherwise is just spewing bullshit. What the game has become, however, that's a completely different matter. And it has become what it is because of the likes of you that would rather revel in their believes that everything is out to get you, that it's the survival of the fittest, and that you should do the same. Fucking hell.

    That's our community for ya.

Minde, it might be usefull to post your PC settings here. With only the information of "freezing" we cannot do much I am afraid.

Well, in my defense, I actually am trying to help. I'm just doing it in a fun way.

Oh, me, me, me! I am an expert! This is my time to shine!

Anyway, more info needed. Does this happen only with ZP:S, or do you have a similar problem(s) with other games as well? What graphics card do you have? Have you tried updating to the latest (or, if that doesn't work, to the newest beta) drivers? When did it start occuring? Did you do something before it started? Does this happen with other source games/mods? Have you tried re-installing the game (+ making sure the folder is all gone with all the mods etc. deleted?)? Have you tried re-installing the Source SDK? Do you have Adobe Flash installed for Internet Explorer (if you don't, playing songs using !buysong (or whatever) won't work, might cause some problem with the mods etc.)? Do you also experience other problems that seem unrelated to playing the game (screen flickers, sudden reboots/shutdowns? Have you looked at your graphics card to see if it's lodged properly into the PCI-E slot and that the cables attached to it are all firmly in? What is my life? Can you describe the problem more in detail? Any error messages, what happens when it closes (does it say Retrieving blah blah from the server and then it closes? Or does it close when the game/map should start with the introduction screen?) Did you make sure there are no disruptive programs running while you try to play the game? Is the game allowed in the firewall settings? Do you have a shitty antivirus that perhaps deletes something while you download some custom stuff from the server while loading the game/map? Choices, Choices. Anyway, have you tried turning it off and on again?

    EDIT:
Dammit, I misread what you said (it was like 1 am after all, and I was tired, but whatever). It freezes during the loading, then? No error messages etc.? Have you tried lowering all the graphics settings to the minimum and waiting for more than 5, 10 minutes?

The one song to rule them all
